“I knew it, and I knew God knew it, and I could not deny it, neither dared I do it...”

Scripture Journey -Pearl of Great Price: Joseph Smith History verse 1-26

Here are the things I pondered while reading the scriptures this week. Jan. 4-10, 2021.

“I knew it, and I knew God knew it, and I could not deny it, neither dared I do it...” vs. 25

Joseph, like Paul, had seen a light; a vision, one both describable & indescribable.

This light came w/knowledge that was undeniable & unstoppable.

YOU can’t unsee or unhear the words of God from heaven, AND because of that, YOUR course will ever change.

When Paul told King Agrippa that he had seen a light; that he knew of Christ’s missions & the beauty it encompassed, the King knew it. He felt it, but he didn’t want to change. It was easier to deny it. The King told Paul, “almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.” Acts 26:28

What if the King had taken the time to ask the Lord if Paul’s words were true?

One of the greatest gifts WE are given is agency to choose, and the ability to ask & receive.

The 1st preacher Joseph told about his vision knew that God spoke to people in the past, as written in the Bible. Yet, the preacher couldn’t fathom that God would speak to people now, especially a boy.

This is a good indication to me that the preacher was not asking God to speak to him, and if not, who was leading his church?

When the preacher answered Joesph, like the King, he did not ask God. Nor did all the other men in high standing.

This made me wonder about their desires.

Joseph had the desire to know the truth.

Joesph was led by scripture.

He was humble in his asking.

He really wanted to know & he believed from reading the scriptures that God would tell him so.

“If any of YOU lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. “

James 1:5 New Testament

To hear Him, WE must ASK Him.

I had the desire to know, I had a wrestle, then I had peace.

God speaks. God restored His gospel. These words are true. This knowledge has produced more joy, peace & love than anything else in my life. It’s fruits testify of that in my life.

I know it.

God knows it.

I can not deny it.

ASK God for yourself; read & study, find a question to ask if it’s true; use James 1:5 as a guide
